THE PLAGUES OF EGYPT AGAINST THEIR FALSE gods
So let's look at the first 2 plagues of Egypt 1. The Waters of the River Nile being turned into Blood; and 2. The Plague of Frogs. The 2 MARINE JUDGEMENTS, or JUDGEMENTS YAHUAH exacted against Egypt from the WATERS. These Judgements were against the Egyptian River Nile god, Hapi, and the Egyptian goddess Heket (a half frog, half human false deity the Egyptians worshipped).
A SOBERING THOUGHT
However, perhaps more worryingly, the fact that the PLAGUES that visited EGYPT were rendered upon the whole NATION of Egypt and not just upon PHAROAH, should serve as a reminder to world citizens everywhere, that they will be answerable to YAHUAH for the unrighteous actions of their Governments.
Note, then as now. A slight pause between each judgement and the next was given to Pharoah to give him an opportunity to REPENT. However, all of YAHUAH’s intreaties to him by the mouth of MOSES and AARON went unheeded.
YAHUAH WILL TAKE JUDGEMENT ON ALL FALSE WORSHIP
Why is it important to have some understanding of the plagues with which YAHUAH judged Egypt? Because if, as we were saying is true that we His people are in A SECOND EGYPT Today. Then we are assured of seeing similar move of YAHUAH in DELIVERANCE of His People for
"(He) is YAHUAH, (He) Changes Not" (Mal 3:6)
This is one of the reasons The PASSOVER was mandated as a perpetual FEAST for Israel, and is a reasons we are told that in the END OF TIME:
“... there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING;” (Luke 21:25)
HOW IS ANY OF THIS HISTORY ON THE PLAGUES OF EGYPT RELEVANT TO US TODAY?
So why is any of this still relevant to us as HEBREWS today? I mean, it was so long ago, right? How could plagues visited on an ancient civilisation, a global empire of it’s day, be important or have any kind of relevance to us today? Well the truth might surprise you. It’s important for a number of reasons, but I’ll try to be concise and give you only 2: Firstly, you have to remember, as we were saying YAHUAH never changes Ecc 1:9 reminds us:
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”
We have only to look back at the past to understand what YAHUAH will do in the future. This is because if YAHUAH ever establishes a certain method or way of doing things. He’ll never change it. This is the reason society may relax it’s principles and laws, most notably recently, those relating to marriage and the definition of the family etc, but YAHUAH’s laws remain right where He established them from before the beginning.
Not only that, but YAHUAH in His word gives evidence of a SECOND EXODUS for YASHAREL.
A SECOND EXODUS
In our aligning to observe the FEASTS in OBEDIENCE to His instructions, it also activates the manifestation of our deliverance (from this second captivity) by FAITH. Now that we know this, it should come as no surprise to us to learn, that there are powers who have a vested interest in Israel not observing her feasts.
RECOGNISE YOUR CONDITION
YAHUAH has already told us of our state. We are “SOLD TO OUR ENEMIES”, and still reside in their lands today, moreover He has already told us that 'No one is coming to (buy/) save us' (Deut 28:68).
This is the reason all of our POLITICAL organisations, and leaders fail. We should be mindful that many have tried. Throughout the Bible Yashar’el is told repeatedly, that they will ONLY ever be saved BY YAHUAH their ELOHIYM, (The Lord their GOD).
“But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and WILL SAVE THEM BY THE LORD THEIR GOD, and WILL NOT save them by BOW, nor by SWORD, nor by BATTLE, by HORSES, nor by HORSEMAN.”
STOP FOLLOWING THE CROWD & RECOGNISE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU
Another way of phrasing this is, Yisolele, YASHAR’EL as we should more correctly be called, or ISRael will not be saved by any of the typical mechanisms by which other nations could be delivered, given justice or saved. In other words not by Political lobbying, electioneering, nominating leaders, forming our own NGO’s and/ institutions, not by any of man’s efforts, not by "BOW" nor "HORSEMEN" these are metaphors for all of our best human efforts. However, by none of these appraoches can Yashar’el be DELIVERED or saved.
THE PROPHET GAD, ALSO TRIED TO TELL US
I like the way the PROPHET Gad expresses it, in his book, the Book of Gad the Seer. Gad if you recall, was one of Jabez’s descendents, as we’d previously pointed out, and a contemporary to King David. He served as one of his PROPHET’s or SEER’s in the King’s court. If you recall he was the prophet sent to King David to reprove him in his sin of counting, or taking a census of the children of Israel. Although his book (written circa 1000 BC) is not canonised within our Bible it is directly referenced in 2 places. I give an example here from 1 Chron 29:29:
“NOW THE ACTS OF DAVID THE KING, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and IN THE BOOK OF GAD THE SEER,”
“Thus said the LORD: ‘I am the King of Israel, and I am their portion. I am their avenger, I am their fortress and might, and you know that IT IS NOT WITH A SWORD OR A SPEAR THAT I WILL SAVE, and not with a man of valiance that draws a sword, for THIS IS THE PORTION OF THE HEATHENS that stand on their might and many warriors. 13 But YOU (YAHUDAH) ARE NOT LIKE THAT, for I am a lone warrior and there is no one with Me.” Book of Gad the Seer 7:12- 13
SALVATION ONLY BY YAHUAH OUR ELOHIYM
The Bible reminds YAHAR’EL constantly, and it doesn’t end until we come to an understanding this principle.
“Know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, (and he will give you into our hands).” 1 Sam 14:47
THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S (/YAHUAH’S)
“Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.” 2 Chron 20:15
“Hear me, O Judah (/YAHUDA), and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established ; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” 2 Chron 20:20
Only by returning to the Lord/ YAHUAH Her ELOHIYM can JUDAH be saved.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Zech 4:6
THE BATTLE IS SPIRITUAL
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds" 2 Cor 10:4
In many cases we are trying to fight SPIRITUAL things with NATURAL means, so are going to find that we are constantly defeated at best. Has that not been the collective experience of HEBREWS to date? When will we recognise our state? As Is 30:15 reminds us only In returning (REPENTANCE) and REST shall (Judah/ YAHUDAH) be saved. In Quietness and confidence (FAITH in YAHUAH) shall ye be your strength.
LET’S RETURN IN QUIET ASSURANCE OF FAITH, FOR THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S
“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.” Is 30:15
As Moses said to the children of Israel In Deut 2:9. ‘We’ve gone around this mountain for long enough’ Let’s make a change, and return wholeheartedly to Him. Not the false 'white God' of Roman Christianity that has condoned oppression and subjugation of nations, for this is not christianity, but the TRUE ELOHIYM our ancestors originally worshipped in Yerushaliym (/ Jerusalem) the land of our nativity in TRUTH.
